How Much Does An EFT Session Cost?

What is an EFT Treatment

How Much Does An EFT Session Cost

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is an alternative approach to treating physical and emotional pain. It has been demonstrated to help with the symptoms of anxiety, stress, sadness, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), among other mental and physical illnesses. This blog post explains how to find an EFT practitioner and how much a session costs.

Awareness creates impact!

One of the domains that have seen significant spread of awareness in the last decade is that of mental health. Through various platforms like social media, cinema and even print media, people have been trying to inform people about the importance of mental health.

You must have come across a social media post, a YouTube video or a movie emphasising and educating people about various mental health conditions and illnesses.

As the processes of normalising and destigmatising mental health-related concerns surge, the idea of seeking help has been propounded exponentially. Equalising mental health problems to physical ones is the driving concept here.

On large, what we witness in terms of mental health campaigns could be summed up as giving people the power and reassurance to come out of the dark pit of mental illnesses and seek required help.

Therapies are a great way to work your way through mental health-related concerns. However, we observe that therapies are seen as some sort of luxury only the well-offs can access. But we know that it shouldn't be the case as access to help is everyone's right.

Alternative therapies such as EDMR, EFT Tapping, etc. open door to vitality, happiness and joy for someone dealing with issues like PTSD, depression, stress, anxiety or nervousness.

In reality, promoting seeking help doesn't serve unless the needy cannot afford it. If you are someone who is familiar with alternative healing therapies such as EFT Tapping and doubtful about the pricing for sessions, this one is for you.

EFT Tapping to Overcome Hurt

What is EFT Tapping?

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is undoubtedly one of the most effective therapeutic methods available today! It's simple to teach with the help of a qualified trainer, and it gives clients a lot of power.

EFT tapping is a method of therapy that involves tapping (gently, with fingertips) on acupuncture meridian end-points on the face and upper body while saying out loud phrases based on how you feel.

Traditional Chinese energy medicine uses the same pathways/channels as EFT, but it also takes advantage of our ability to actively think about or "tune-in" to our problem or issue.

EFT tapping is a straightforward technique that anyone may use. It's a procedure that's long-lasting, mild, and usually rapid. It is easy to learn and does not necessitate the use of any medications or specialised equipment. You'll be able to utilise it independently once you've learned it.

It has the capacity to alter our responses to upsetting ideas, feelings, and memories (with pain, tension or stress, for example).

"You possess an intuitive intelligence so powerful it can help you heal, relieve stress and find emotional freedom."

Judith Orloff

Tapping is most effective when utilised as part of a comprehensive therapy strategy. It's simple to incorporate into a variety of existing treatment strategies for mental and physical health issues.

Its application isn't restricted to the topics mentioned above. Tapping can also be used to improve overall wellbeing as part of a mindfulness practise.

Tapping has also been shown to aid in the healing of traumatic experiences, alcoholism, and addiction, as well as the improvement of well-being in people who are ill.

Emotional Freedom Techniques is also favourable if:

  1. You want to learn more about emotional wellness and treatment
  2. You want to Break Free from Limitations and Heal from the Inside Out
  3. You want to help yourself and others
  4. You're looking for a new career that will allow you to help others recover and reform
  5. You want to improve both your career and emotional well-being

HOW DOES EFT TAPPING WORK?

The Emotional Freedom Technique, or simply EFT, was developed by Gary Craig with the objective of assisting clients in letting go of negative thoughts, memories, and emotions.

This therapy includes stimulating certain pressure points on the body while recalling painful memories or upsetting feelings.

When people are worried or upset, or when they have a specific issue they want to address, they commonly use EFT tapping.

It may, however, be useful for someone before an occasion that they anticipate may induce tension, anxiety, or any other form of mental discomfort.

A person is either guided by an EFT practitioner or guided by themselves throughout the EFT method to focus on uncomfortable thoughts or feelings while tapping on various body areas.

Meridians, which are stimulated in a similar way during acupuncture, are the specific areas that the client is taught to tap.

While negative emotions are thought to cause energy blockages, tapping on specific points is said to clear these blockages and eliminate negative feelings.

Rather than using needles like an acupuncturist, the EFT client is advised to gently press on these points with their fingertips. EFT states that tapping on these points and bringing one's awareness to unpleasant feelings allows one to release negative emotional energy.

The fundamental EFT technique entails identifying the issue and then tapping on it. Physical tension, for example, could be a factor in the pain you're having or the mood you're in as a result of the discomfort.

Start with the component that the client is most familiar with, and then work on each one separately. Continue to the next aspect when the intensity drops.

EFT Tapping eliminates negative energy

THEORY BEHIND EFT TAPPING

EFT is the recent development in a long line of therapies that date back thousands of years.

The source of all unpleasant emotions, according to EFT, is a disruption in the body's energy system. A traumatic event or incident causes the energy system to be disrupted, resulting in negative feelings and, in some cases, negative thoughts.

Once the energy system is adjusted, the emotional charge fades away. As the central premise implies, you aren't "mentally inhibited." You're "energy-blocked," instead. By following the simple EFT tapping instructions, you can clear congested channels.

EFT relieves stress by rewiring and restoring balance to the energy system, making you feel calmer, more at ease, and ready to let go and go on.

TWO ASPECTS OF EFT TAPPING

EFT Tapping is a therapeutic modality that combines two aspects: talk and touch.

Communication in EFT

Talk:

Communication is the most important aspect of EFT. Tapping is a kind of communication, like many other therapies and healing modalities. The importance of talking in therapy has been recognised by the development of a branch of psychotherapy known as Talk Therapy. Talking about feelings and emotions may actually assist people in changing their perspectives and evaluating situations. Conversational features are frequently included into approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Touch:

Because touching is one of the five love languages, it is a vital aspect of EFT Tapping. Touch, which conveys compassion, affection, and presence, can be a vital component of healing.

For instance, babies who have experienced enough or any safe touch are less likely to suffer psychological disorders later in life than babies who have not had enough or any safe touch. EFT Tapping is a technique that involves tapping on specific spots on the body known as Tapping points.

For those unfamiliar with EFT, it is also known as Tapping Therapy, and it entails tapping on acupressure points while speaking statements aloud to accept events.

HOW TO FIND A THERAPIST WHO PROMOTES EFT TAPPING?

The beauty of EFT, more likely known as Emotional Freedom Techniques, is that it is a strong self-healing tool that anyone can learn and use on their own to bring yourself back to a state of calm and creative thinking in the midst of an emotional upheaval.

Most people learn the basic EFT Technique in their initial sessions with a practitioner, either on the internet or via a practitioner. There are, however, a number of gentle Tapping Techniques that can help with broader concerns, prior experiences, and trauma.

If you wish to move past prior trauma, major events, or life-long habits, it's ideal to work with a professional EFT Practitioner who can help you release these events without re-traumatising yourself. Working with a practitioner can speed up healing and development, as well as provide clients with the tools and support they need to tap effectively on their own.

While there is no single directory for therapists who facilitate tapping, you can seek for someone who can do so using an online directory. Many therapists who use somatic or energetic approaches are often able to help with tapping as well (1).

You can discover eft tapping therapists online, or you can seek advice from your existing doctor, psychiatrist, or other medical professionals.

Make sure the eft therapy provider is a registered mental health expert if you wish to employ tapping as part of a mental health treatment plan. As long as they've had basic training, licensed mental health practitioners can offer tapping. While numerous EFT universities provide credentials, they are primarily received by people who are not mental health practitioners.

If you want to try EFT, choose a therapist who is well-versed in the techniques, methods, and approaches used in EFT. This person should be able to assist you in recognising, addressing, and managing your emotions in any setting.

EFT can be provided by certified tapping practitioners, but they cannot provide treatment.

HOW MUCH DOES AN EFT SESSION COST?

To begin with, there is no right or incorrect fee when it comes to eft tapping. You are taking a service that will transform your life.

EFT-oriented psychotherapy, counselling, or coaching costs the same as any other form of psychotherapy, counselling, personal performance coaching, or any other service provided by practitioners who have received specialised training in their field.

Fees vary widely depending on the practitioner's credentials and standing in their own specialty area, as well as their expertise in EFT, and telephone sessions are charged at the same hourly rate as in-office visits because both require the same amount of time, skill, and commitment on the therapist's part. Because you chose a phone appointment, you cannot anticipate a particular financial arrangement.

Now how much does eft therapy costs, in numbers?

Fees each session will often range from $60 to $185 USD, with the average rate falling between between $80 and $125. While these may be standard fees for the professional services you desire, keep in mind that EFT therapy or counselling is typically faster than traditional therapy or counselling, and thus may be more cost effective in the long term (2).

Deeper issues, on the other hand, frequently necessitate long-term treatment, which should be planned for accordingly if this is the case with you. Depending on your insurance carrier's professional qualifications and regional limits, reimbursement for EFT-oriented psychotherapy may or may not be available.

EFT- A big support
DOES EFT TAPPING REALLY WORK?

Over more than 100 articles demonstrating the usefulness of tapping have been published since its inception. The American Psychological Association (APA) published a study in 2020 that found that a single hour of tapping reduced biological markers of stress in those suffering from a variety of psychological distress symptoms like anxiety, sadness, and interpersonal sensitivity. It can also help with chronic stress, chronic pain, and anxiety related to tests and performances.

According to a study of the literature, tapping helped dramatically lessen anxiety symptoms. In one study comparing EFT to cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), 90% of individuals who underwent EFT saw significant improvement in their symptoms, while just 63% of those who received CBT saw significant improvement. Furthermore, tapping proved successful without the use of any medication. In comparison to CBT, it only required three sessions to see effects (3).

Anxiety symptoms are minimised after eft tapping therapy, with one study revealing that participants' symptoms were still reduced three months later (4).

According to a study and meta-analysis of studies on the effectiveness of EFT in treating depression, tapping reduced symptoms by 41%. It was also discovered that eft tapping's effects were greater than those recorded in antidepressant medication studies. Symptom reduction was sustained over time, just as it was with tapping for other mental health issues (5).

According to numerous research, tapping may be a viable complement to treatment for chronic pain sufferers. Patients with fibromyalgia took part in an eight-week virtual training in one trial. Various characteristics of chronic pain, such as rumination, amplification, and helplessness, as well as anxiety and depression symptoms, were reduced (6).

Routine tapping twice a day for two months lowered both the frequency and intensity of tension headaches, according to a study of people who suffer from regular tension headaches (7).

Another study looked at acute pain in people who had just had surgery. Those who underwent five minutes of tapping every day for three days after surgery had much less discomfort than those who did not (8).

EFT Tapping has been demonstrated to considerably improve symptoms such as flashbacks and nightmares, sleeplessness, difficulty concentrating, isolation, hypervigilance, and hostility in those with PTSD. Survivors of the Rwandan genocide were treated with a single tapping session in one research. PTSD symptoms were considerably reduced after treatment, and the gains were maintained at a two-year follow-up (9).

EFT Tapping research

EFT Tapping is a simple approach to release barriers and become unstuck at life's crossroads that everyone should try. That said, it's important to remember that EFT isn't a cure and isn't meant to be used in place of medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Also, the cost factor plays a crucial role here. It is very obvious that whenever we go out to try something new, whether it's shopping or therapy, we seek for pricing and costs. The importance of monetary worth cannot be overstated.

One of the most significant impediments to mental health treatment is a lack of financial resources. While the expense of therapy is a legitimate concern, it may be costly, especially when the price tag is the sole consideration.

EFT Therapy, on the other hand, can have considerable advantages, such as a better mental health, goodwill, and positive traits in them free of past disappointments.

People who are less productive as a result of depression, who have creative blocks, who struggle to find the correct career path, who participate in compulsive shopping or gambling, and who have work-related issues may end up with more money as a result of therapy.

EFT Therapy can dramatically and permanently enhance a person's life, even if it does not provide a direct economic advantage.

We don't stumble upon a meaningful existence; we make it happen by our activities, which begin with looking for ways to benefit ourselves and others. The more we give and receive, the more likely we are to find meaning and purpose in our lives.

People considering therapy should think about the therapy's entire value, not just the price. We'd be delighted to assist you in finding a therapist who can truly benefit your situation.

Love yourself and happy tapping!

Love,

Dr Rangana Rupavi Choudhuri (PhD)
