If our thoughts can make a tree live or die imagine what it can do to our bodies?

“What we can or cannot do, what we consider possible or impossible, is rarely a function of our true capability. It is more likely a function of our beliefs about who we are.” Tony Robbins

2500 years ago, when the Buddha said that “you are what you think”, he was not articulating a random philosophical theory. Actually, he was describing a scientific fact which is now proved correct by Quantum Physics and Molecular Biology.

Buddha spoke about subconscious mind and its unfathomable power over our lives, which he called it ‘Alay Vigyan’, or ‘store consciousness’. This is the part of mind where all our beliefs and experiences are stored; and they dictate our life from there.

Another great example of the power of thought is from the movie, Taare Zameen Par. The art teacher played by Aamir Khan tells the rude and cursing father of the dyslexic child, Darsheel, about the Solomon Islands.

On those islands, the tribals do not cut down a tree. They surround the tree and curse it for hours every day. Within a few weeks, the tree dries up and becomes dead.

Most of us might find this example very difficult to believe; how can intangible and invisible thoughts and words kill a tree? When the tribals of Solomon Islands curse a tree, they are actually installing negative and harmful beliefs in the tree’s mind (yes, trees do have minds too!).

Within a few days, those negative beliefs change the molecular architecture of the tree and kill it from inside.

The same way that the negative beliefs damage the tree from within its mind, our negative beliefs are harmfully impacting us on a cellular level, thus leading to physical ailments in addition to mental and emotional problems.

Thoughts are so strong, that they can change, alter, and transform our body’s cells and genes. The steps to transforming beliefs based on Breakthrough Coaching with NLP are as follow:

  • Uncover the limiting beliefs
  • Identify the root cause, which is generally the first time that belief was learnt
  • Clear the root cause and transform the belief
  • Install the desired belief

This also works If you are a parent and you keep cursing your child in the name of constructive criticism, you are installing beliefs in their mind which will keep harming them forever.

Our inner child becomes stuck in such moments of having experienced intense negative emotions during childhood.

With NLP, one can release and transform the event that took place in the past so as to empower the inner child.

By doing this, one eradicates the learnt beliefs and reshapes the future.

If you keep appreciating your child in a sincere way, you are installing beliefs in their mind which will help them for their entire life.

Likewise, be careful of what you keep saying to yourself.

Repetition of words and thoughts is the best way to install a belief in your subconscious mind.

If you keep saying you are a loser, don’t be surprised if you become one within a few months or years!

And if you have friends who keep saying such things to you, there is no harm in saying a quick goodbye to them.

Maybe you value the friendship a lot, but you must value yourself a little more.
