Appeals Policy

We are committed to ensuring that all decisions regarding assessments, monitoring processes, reasonable adjustments, special considerations, and investigations into malpractice or maladministration are fair, consistent, and transparent. 

This Appeals Policy outlines the procedure that you or your learners can follow if you wish to challenge a decision related to any of these outcomes.

1. SCOPE

This policy applies to decisions regarding: 

a. Assessment outcomes

  • Reasonable adjustments and special considerations
  • Findings from malpractice or maladministration investigations
  • Any other monitoring or compliance-related decisions

b. Grounds for Appeal  

  • Appeals can be made on the following grounds
  • Procedural irregularity or unfairness in the decision-making process
  • New evidence becoming available that was not previously considered
  • Belief that the decision was unreasonable based on the available evidence

2. HOW TO APPEAL

 We may collect and use User’s personal information for the following purposes:

a. Initial Enquiry - Contact us informally within 10 working days of receiving the decision if you have any concerns. We will aim to resolve matters quickly and informally where possible.

b. Formal Appeal: - If you are not satisfied with the outcome of the initial enquiry, you can submit a formal appeal in writing within 20 working days of the original decision.
Your written appeal should include:

  • Your name and contact details
  • A clear description of the decision you are appealing
  • The grounds for your appeal
  • Any supporting evidence

3. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We will acknowledge receipt of your appeal within 5 working days and confirm the next steps.

4. REVIEW PROCESS

A senior member of the team, who was not involved in the original decision, will review your appeal objectively and fairly. We may request further information if needed.

5. OUTCOME

You will receive a written outcome of your appeal within 20 working days of acknowledgement.

The outcome may:

  • Uphold the original decision
  • Overturn the original decision
  • Recommend further investigation or action

6. FINAL STAGE

The decision made at the conclusion of the appeal process is final.

7. MONITORING AND REVIEW

We monitor all appeals to identify trends and areas for improvement. This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness.
