What are you most afraid of? Maybe your phobia is of needles, heights or even dentists (one of mine!).

Perhaps just the thought of driving, being in a crowded elevator or flying makes your heart beat fast and palms sweaty.

Fears and phobias are more common than you might realize.

I was surprised to learn that according to the Institute of Mental Health (April 2015), the fear of public speaking is the number one fear in the world, beating fear of death and spiders.

People would rather die than speak in public! Other examples of common fears include the fears of darkness, thunder, and confined spaces.

What exactly defines a fear or phobia?

Fear is something we are scared of, and a phobia is an illogical fear. 

I recall my university friend Becky, who had a fear of sharks. If she ever came across a picture of a shark in a magazine, she used to scream out loud and immediately throw the magazine out of her hands, as if the shark was right in front of her.

This is what makes the phobia illogical. The shark is not in front of her and yet her experience is as if the shark is in front of her. 

She is not even in the sea, and yet she feels as though the shark is right next to her.

37 Year Old Fear of Gas Cylinders Gone

I had a fear of gas cylinders. I wasn’t very sure where the fear had come from. It was so serious that if I saw cylinders in tempos or trucks I’d freeze. The hissing sound of gas would get me into cold sweats. Even at home, I never used to receive the delivery of the cylinder or changed it myself. I decided to attend EFT with Dr Rangana.

I never imagined that this fear was related to an incident when I was just 1 year old. Then after 37 years, 12 minutes of the EFT fears and phobias process changed all of that. I ended up hugging the cylinder. After the seminar on reaching home, I changed the gas cylinder for the first time in 37 years. I have never feared gas cylinders ever since. Getting free from this fear has also opened up other areas of my life.

Overcame My Panic Attacks And Experienced Peace

I’ve had panic attacks many times. I didn’t expect one to come up during the EFT reunion day.

I slowly calmed down and I felt my muscles relax as Rangana continued the tapping and the other delegates helped me with grounding and holding the healing space.
