Have you ever wondered if the emotional healing journey you're on is truly making a difference? Perhaps you've embarked on this journey seeking solace from emotional turmoil, yet you're unsure if you're truly moving forward.

It's natural to crave reassurance and clarity about whether EFT is guiding you toward inner peace and healing.

The journey towards emotional well-being can sometimes feel like navigating through a dense fog; you're not quite sure if you're moving forward or simply treading water. But as you delve into the gentle art of EFT Tapping, you discover subtle yet powerful indicators that reassure you're on the right path to inner peace and harmony.

WHAT IS EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUES?

EFT Treatment, often referred to as tapping therapy, is a holistic healing modality that combines elements of traditional Chinese medicine with modern psychology.

The simple act of Emotional Freedom Techniques Tapping on acupressure points opens the door to profound transformation.

These EFT Tapping points include areas on your entire body like the top of the head, eyebrows, side of the eye, under the eye, nose, chin, collarbone, under the arm, and the karate chop point on the hand (2).

EFT Working Signs - physical pain and negative feelings

EFT treatment is based on the idea that emotional distress, negative emotions and physical pain are often rooted in disruptions in the body's energy system (1).

Tapping provides a safe haven where you can explore your emotions with compassion and curiosity, untangling the knots of past wounds and limiting beliefs.

With each tap, you release stagnant energy and welcome in a sense of calm and empowerment, reclaiming ownership of your emotional well-being.

SIGNS EFT IS WORKING: SIGNS OF HEALING IN EFT FOR YOUR LOVED ONES

  • Emotional Release to calm post-traumatic stress disorder: Pay attention to the moments of emotional release during or after EFT sessions. You may notice a gentle unraveling of pent-up emotions, offering them a sense of relief. Look for signs like tears, sighs, or a subtle shift in their emotional state.

  • Inner Peace and Emotional Stability: Look for a newfound sense of calm and centeredness in your loved one, even amidst challenging situations. This indicates that EFT is helping them release pent-up emotions and find balance within themselves.

HOW MANY ROUNDS OF EFT FOR POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER?

How many rounds of EFT Tapping points you do depends on your unique needs and how you're feeling in the moment. There's no one-size-fits-all answer.

It's like finding the perfect recipe for your favorite dish – you might need to adjust the ingredients based on how you're feeling that day. Just like a gentle breeze can calm the waves of the ocean, tapping can soothe your mind and body.

So, trust your intuition and listen to what your body is telling you. You know yourself best, and your body will guide you to the right number of rounds of tapping for you.

1.

Start with One Round:

For beginners or those addressing a specific issue for the first time, starting with one or just a few rounds of EFT Tapping is a reasonable approach. This involves tapping energy points through the designated major acupressure points in your nervous system.

2.

Assess Immediate Changes:

After completing the initial round, and accessing your mental health and any physical signs, assess the immediate changes. Pay attention to any shifts in emotional intensity, physical sensations, PTSD symptoms or mental clarity.

3.

Observe Gradual Progress:

Understand that the effects of EFT can be cumulative and may unfold gradually over multiple sessions. If the issue being addressed is complex or deeply rooted, it might require consistent tapping over time to witness significant progress in your physical symptoms.

4.

Listen to Your Body:

Encourage your loved one or yourself to listen to the signals from the body and emotions to get rid of emotional stress. If there's a sense that more rounds are needed to fully address the layers of a particular issue, feel free to continue tapping.

5.

Explore Related Aspects:

Sometimes, a single round may not be enough to address the entirety of a complex issue. Encourage the exploration of related aspects or facets of the problem. This might involve tapping into different emotions, memories, or specific details associated with the main issue.

STEPS TO ACHIEVE A POSITIVE RESULT WITH EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE

Engaging in open communication with you is a valuable aspect of the healing process, providing insights and guidance as you navigate the effectiveness of evidence-based therapy.

Here are the basic steps for EFT Tapping:

Emotional Freedom Technique - EFT practitioners; Energy meridians

Step 1:

First Use EFT Tapping Therapy to Gauge Emotional Issues

The initial steps of tapping work involve recognizing the surface-level manifestations of the personal challenge you're facing. Take a moment to analyse your thought process and recall a recent instance or traumatic event when your emotions were overwhelming due to this issue.

1.

Identifying Surface-Level Issues Addressed with EFT

Recall a moment when your emotions were overwhelming due to a personal issue you're facing.

Notice how these emotions manifest in your body, whether it's a knot in your stomach, a heaviness in your chest, or tension in your shoulders.

For this EFT session, let's focus on the primary emotion of Anxiety. (You can address other emotions individually).

2.

Rate the Intensity

Rate your current feelings of anxiety on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being extremely intense and 1 being low.

3.

Tap on the Karate Chop Point

Begin tapping on the Karate Chop point while repeating a setup statement.

"Even though I feel anxious about [specific the particular issue], I deeply and completely accept myself."

(Repeat this statement three times).

4.

Tapping Sequence

Continue tapping on specific points, addressing the identified emotion and issue:

  • Eyebrow: I feel anxious about ______
  • Side of the eye: I sense it in my ______
  • Under the eye: It’s at a level _______
  • Under the nose: It makes me feel _______
  • Chin: I'm experiencing ________ at a level ____
  • Collarbone: It's causing me____
  • Under the arm: So rough
  • Thumb: I feel it in my chest_____
  • Index finger: Anxious because_____
  • Middle finger: I sense it in my _____
  • Little finger: So_____

5.

Close the sequence by coming back to the EFT karate chop tapping points and repeat once

"Even though I feel anxious about [specific the particular issue], I deeply and completely accept myself."

6.

Relax

Take a gentle breath in, then let it out and take a sip of water.

7.

Evaluate

Reassess your feelings and observe any changes in your thoughts and emotions regarding the personal challenge. Notice if the intensity has shifted, if you feel more at ease, or if new insights have emerged.

  • What number is the anxiety at now?
  • What happened?
  • How does it make you feel?

You can repeat this process by going back to Step 1 if you feel like the number could come down a little more.

Step 2:

Reflect on Past Experiences Shaping Anxiety

Take a moment to delve into past experiences that may have influenced feelings of anxiety. Consider the following questions to guide your reflection:

  • When have you experienced heightened anxiety in the past?

  • Which memories come to mind when you feel anxious?

  • Can you recall instances where you felt less anxious or more at ease?

  • What specific situations tend to trigger feelings of anxiety for you?

Step 3:

Challenge Limiting Beliefs About Anxiety

Limiting beliefs are thoughts that can be conscious or unconscious. Sometimes, they end up becoming responsible for self-sabotage, procrastination, and low self-esteem, in an individual.

Identify and confront any beliefs that may be reinforcing your anxiety. Transform negative beliefs into positive affirmations, such as:

  • "I can't control my anxiety." to “I have the ability to manage my anxiety effectively.”

  • "I'll always struggle with anxious thoughts." to “I am capable of overcoming my anxious tendencies.”

  • "I'm not worthy of peace of mind." to “I deserve to cultivate inner peace and serenity.”

Step 4:

Conclude with Empowering Affirmations

Wrap up the session by tapping into positive affirmations tailored to alleviate your specific anxiety symptoms:

"Even though I feel anxious at times, I choose to cultivate inner calm and resilience, guiding myself towards a state of peace and balance."

CONCLUSION

Supporting a loved one through the holistic approach of EFT Tapping sequence is a testament to the strength of your relationship. By attentively observing signs EFT is working and navigating the journey together, you contribute to creating a safe space for emotional healing helping you achieve inner peace.

These signs of healing, though gentle, signify profound transformations taking place within. Embrace them with patience and understanding, knowing that each small step forward is a testament to their resilience and inner strength.
