Malpractice Policy
We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity in all our assessment and certification processes.
This policy outlines the processes and procedures to be followed in the event of any reported activity or practice that deliberately contravenes regulations and compromises the validity of assessments or certification.
1. Definition of Malpractice
Malpractice may include, but is not limited to:
- Plagiarism or copying another's work
- Impersonation of a learner or trainer
- Fabrication or falsification of evidence
- Unauthorised access to assessment materials
- Breach of assessment security
- Any other activity that undermines the fairness, integrity, or credibility of the assessment or certification process
2. Reporting Malpractice
- Any suspected or alleged malpractice must be reported immediately to a senior member of the team, Assist Leader, or Head Trainer.
- Reports can be made confidentially and will be treated seriously and sensitively.
- Sufficient evidence should be provided where possible to support the allegation.
3. Investigation Process
- All reports of malpractice will be formally acknowledged within 5 working days.
- A thorough, fair, and unbiased investigation will be conducted by a designated senior team member who is independent of the incident.
- The individual(s) concerned may be asked to provide a written statement or further evidence.
- Investigations will be conducted promptly, with the aim of reaching a conclusion within 20 working days wherever possible.
4. Outcomes and Actions
Depending on the findings of the investigation, actions may include:
- No further action if the allegation is unsubstantiated
- Issuing a warning
- Requiring additional training or resubmission of assessments
- Suspension or withdrawal of certification
- Severance of association with the organisation
- Reporting the malpractice to relevant external bodies where necessary
5. Appeals
- Individuals have the right to appeal the outcome of a malpractice investigation through the formal Appeals Process (insert link).
6. Monitoring and Review
- We monitor all reported malpractice cases to ensure continual improvement of our processes and the upholding of high standards.
- This policy is reviewed annually to maintain its effectiveness and relevance.
